I begin this blog where Sheldon Vanauken began his bestselling book, A Severe Mercy, with "Glenmerle Revisited". The photo above was taken by my friend, Tom Rumer, on my first visit to the former location of Vanauken's boyhood home, Glenmerle, back in 2008.
The purpose of this blog will be two-fold: (1) to whet the appetite of the reader for my forthcoming book on Vanauken's life and (2) to comment on, or post links to literature, music, artwork and other references in A Severe Mercy as well as Vanauken's other works.
